WHY DO BUSINESS?
Why would I engage into business? That would be the first question to pop in your mind if you see this blog. The second question would be; What's in it for me?
I understand if you would likely to ask yourself or even ask somebody WHY you should engage into business where in perhaps you are inclined to be a HARDWORKING, INTELLIGENT, ALL AROUND employee. The thing here is that you NEED to UNDERSTAND why you should engage yourself into business. First, you should know that there is an UNSPOKEN PLAN that nobody talks about but they you can see it in a day to day basis. The plan usually starts after you graduated in college, for some who didn't go to school because of poverty they start as early as 17 to 19 years old. Let's say you start after college, you receive your diploma, the first thing that comes out of your mind is that I NEED TO FIND A JOB! (not unless, you are proceeding to post graduate school to take your masteral, doctorate, or to be a lawyer or doctor or anything that will give you higher education). A job, the first JOBS you could think about are those in line with your course. Then the next thing that's going to happen is to APPLY FOR A JOB. You go to JOB FAIRS, go around the CITY to look for a JOB and then you fall in line with the rest of the graduates of the same year you graduated, PLUS those who graduated before you, PLUS those who are overly qualified, PLUS those who are QUALIFIED and then you realize that "I should do the BEST I can or BETTER than the others during the initial interview" so that I can get the job that I'm applying for. If you are accepted then good, but if not, then you look for another job until you are finally HIRED for a job. For those who are lucky enough to have a job in line with their college degree then good for them. But YOU know that there are LOTS and LOTS of people who has JOBS that are not even close to what college degree they have. And the logic and rationale of it is that they are working to earn MONEY! Bottom line, whatever you do, whatever job you have, you work to earn money. Money for yourself and for your family to support your daily needs. It doesn't matter what job it is, the job you love or the job you hate as long as it HELPS pay the bills.
Let's say you get a job, you are 20 years old, you work from 20 to 60 years old and then what? receive you retirement benefit, receive your monthly pension as your old parents or grand parents did. Again, and then what? We all know that if we grow old we need money for our medicines, we need money for our daily needs, we need money to pay the bills, we need money to continue living.. NOT unless you are sure you are going to die after you RETIRE or spent the last centavo of you retirement pay. What exactly are you going to do? I'm sure you are going to ENGAGE yourself into business! The point is, you are still going to do business. There is NO ESCAPE! All of us will be in the same endpoint. Now the magic question in your mind that will pop out is that "what business should I put up?". Before you answer that question, I want you to IMAGINE, 40 years of working from the age of 20 to 60 years old, you know A LOT and you are an EXPERT about your JOB, every ins and outs out it and suddenly you ask yourself "what business should I put up?". If you don't know anything about BUSINESS, do you think it would prosper? Yes, it would survive for a couple of weeks or months but then again it might not prosper since you haven't acquired the SKILLS and WISDOM on how to do business.
How would WE acquire this so called SKILLS and WISDOM on making our business? First, we should understand that we should LEARN the "VALUES OF BUSINESS."

VALUES OF BUSINESS
All people has different sets of beliefs and values. It's not wrong nor the other one is right. It's about what VALUES are you willing to acquire and apply. We all know that there are A LOT of employees who are NOT earning well, in the other hand, we know A FEW businessman who are earning BIG. What difference would it make if they are both working? The answer are so simple. The LIFESTYLE they have and the COMFORT they are living and they fully ENJOY what this life and world has to offer.
Look at the picture on the left side. It may not be your SET of VALUES but what it says is true. An employee has a job but he "DOES NOT HAVE TIME and MONEY (just enough money to survive)". Plus the mere fact that his JOB can be taken away anytime due to any valid or invalid reason from the company or personal reasons. An Entrepreneur may start slow with his business but in the LONG RUN, he has the BIGGER CHANCE to gain financial freedom and stability. An Entrepreneur will ultimately gain the "FREEDOM of TIME and the FINANCIAL STABILITY of EARNING MORE MONEY" to do the most important thing in life. TO SPEND AND ENJOY THEIR TIME WITH THEIR FAMILIES w/ the BONUS of COMFORT and FREEDOM of TIME with no worries at all. Why? Because THEY are the BOSS of their own business. They create JOBS, they create OPPORTUNITY, they create WEALTH, simply because they understand the beauty of business that only a FEW would DARE to LEARN.
WHY are we inclined to look for a JOB where in fact the benefits of business are way more better? The answer is VALUES. These values we acquire are from those people that INFLUENCES us the most. Our parents, our cousins, our relatives, our friends, those who keep on saying and teaching things based on what they see everyday. For example, our parents would usually say, "GO TO SCHOOL, GET GOOD GRADES, GET YOUR DIPLOMA, GO FIND A JOB, AND THEN YOU'LL GET YOUR DREAMS SOMEDAY". Actually, that is a GOOD advice, they just simply don't know WHEN would we even start to get our dreams. Now let's look at the same advice or set of values again in a different perspective. Let's say we do all those things said above, the question remains, are you really SURE that you will get your DREAMS or are you working for SOMEBODY ELSE to make their dreams come true? And what you get in return is just to live to survive. Let's take the same advice and again look at it in a different perspective. If that is the advice of our parents, then why don't we ask them if they we're able to ACHIEVE their ultimate dreams in life through their OWN jobs? Do they really follow their own advice or perhaps they are just passing this VALUES to the next generation. We are no longer in the INDUSTRIAL AGE. We are in the INFORMATION AGE and the rules of the game had changed. If we are not going to cope up with the changes we are going to get left behind by the OLD set of VALUES that we acquire. Take for example the CHINESE businessmen, they are rich and wealthy plus they are healthy. Of course not all chinese men are rich but what I'm simply saying is that CHINESE BUSINESSMEN. These businessmen has a DIFFERENT set of values acquired. What are those values; "GO TO SCHOOL, GET PASSING OR HIGH GRADES, GET YOUR DIPLOMA, START A BUSINESS, MAKE IT A COMPANY, LIST YOUR DREAMS AND ONE BY ONE MAKE THEM REAL!".
Now let me give you a concrete example of these NEW set of VALUES. When I was in college I believe in my skills and abilities and I believe I'm quite Intelligent as well. In second year college I shifted my college course to Marketing. I was able to meet some chinese friends during college and in our classes I got familiar with them. They are also Intelligent but they work SMART. Now, when we have quizzes, they sit beside me and copy, when we have projects, I make the projects and they give money to include their names and asks me to teach them about the project just in case there are would be reporting's in class. At the end of the day, me and my girlfriend goes out from the gates of school to WALK outside and go home while my chinese classmates goes home with STYLE inside their OWN cars. During that time I said to myself, "someday I would buy my own car and they are just lucky because they are born rich." I was able to work for 3 years but then again I HAVE NO CAR. Then suddenly a question popped out my mind; "what exactly do my rich classmates do during their free time? what exactly does their parents do for a living? what exactly do they know that made them who they are?" the ANSWER: their parents are engaged into BUSINESS. my classmates we're helping their parents with their business and at the same time LEARNS a lot about money in the field than most people learn about money inside the classroom. Their parents businesses is passed down from generation to generation and their way of life is improved and they live their lives as comfortable as possible. WHY? because their SET OF VALUES is what they BELIEVE in and that's exactly what they DO!
