Progress is made in steps. Right NOW is your opportunity to take one. = )
I'm Michael Ryan C. Moran, I'm currently 28 years of age and I worked as a call center agent for 3 years in a certain BPO company that supports routers and gateways. I took up Computer Science in my 1st year in college and then I shifted into Business Administration major in Marketing in 2nd year college since I thought there would be not a lot of work opportunity for me here in the Philippines if I finish ComSci. Then again, I ended up working in a call center which is really "NOT MY CUP OF TEA!". I learned anything or everything fast about what my job requires me to do since I don't want to lose my so called precious job, it didn't matter to me what I was learning or doing since all I'm thinking about is to be "financially stable".
I remember when I was working in the call center for the first year my Team Captain (supervisor) asked me, "how do I see myself after 5 years?". My reply was so typical that I told him that I want to be a supervisor asap and then become a manager in 3 to 5 years without even thinking or blinking. I believe that it would be the same answer of any regular employee would think and say. 3 years have passed but still I was stuck on the same position as an agent and then I've noticed that it's not only me. My peers and colleagues have the same situation as well. Then I began to THINK back where I began and I asked myself what did I do wrong? Am I not working well enough? Am I not as intelligent as the other workers are? Is this line of work my cup of tea? Then I remembered, the question of my supervisor; HOW DO I SEE MYSELF AFTER 5 YEARS? This time around I paused and think of a better answer. I began to ask myself, was somebody promoted as a supervisor in the past 3 years? If so, how many? Was somebody promoted as a manager in the past 3 years? If so, how many? was somebody promoted even in my batch of agents to be a supervisor? the answer is NONE! Even though sometimes I out perform them. And then another realization came to my MIND which I didn't thought the first time I was asked by my Team Captain of the question "HOW DO I SEE MYSELF AFTER 5 YEARS"? I realized, I should have asked him the same question or rather I should have asked him, we're you able to become SUCCESSFUL after 5 years? or are you FINANCIALLY STABLE after 5 years? or do you know somebody that works here that is FINANCIALLY STABLE after 5 years? And then I found out, he has the same PROBLEM as well. On top of it, not only ME, not only my Team Captain, but indeed most of US who are working are not financially stable! And then I asked myself a NEW question; "WHAT EXACTLY AM I DOING?".
In the call center industry I worked for 9 hours a day (not literally day time but night time since our country of support is in the U.S. and when it's day time there it's night time here in the Philippines) and I sleep LESS than 8 hours a day but yet I'm so BUSY and yet I have time for those things or activities that won't LEAD me to my goal to become financially stable. When I was working for 3 years, I didn't felt that I was successful, not even close to being SUCCESSFUL. I was in fact, SURVIVING. There is nothing wrong with simply surviving but yet I realized I was born not to simply survive. I was born to be or to do something GREAT to achieve what we call SUCCESS. I finally REALIZED, what was the problem for me and perhaps you too have the same problem you just don't notice it. I'm "HARDWORKING and PATIENT" and I believe everybody has this trait as well. I realized that it's the SYSTEM that I'm following is what gives me the RESULT i'm getting. To make it short, E + S = R (E for effort, S for system, R for results). There is no problem with the EFFORT since WE all do our share in whatever work that is required. There is no problem with the RESULT since it's just the end point or basically the fruits of our effort or labor. The problem is the SYSTEM. What system am I following? There are only 2 systems that we commonly know: EMPLOYMENT or BUSINESS. It's not a secret in life that most people who become FINANCIALLY STABLE and has a LOT OF FREE TIME to do the most important things in LIFE are businessman. When I was employed I don't have money plus I don't have time but yet I'm WORKING! While some of the businessman I know, they have money plus they have time and they are HAPPY! Then I TOLD myself, "THEY KNOW SOMETHING THAT I DON'T KNOW and THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING THAT I'M NOT DOING". The only difference between a rich person and a poor person is NOT their physical appearance nor what race are they from. It is what's INSIDE their MINDS that counts. The difference? MINDSET!
I asked myself these questions; Do I want my way of LIFE to improve? Do I want a better LIFE for my future family? Do I want more in this world has to offer? Am I born to simply survive or I can make my own destiny? Do I really want to be successful? What legacy would I leave my family? Do I want to pass poverty to my next generation? Am I worth more than I'm working for? Do I have DREAMS that I want to turn into REALITY? Does anybody has the RIGHT to tell me I can't achieve the DREAMS I want for my life to simply CHANGE? Now, you may have asked YOURSELF one of the few questions as well. If not, you better ASK yourself NOW before life will pass you by while others are ENJOYING what this world has to offer! I found an answer and that I'm WILLING TO SHARE IT TO YOU! Have an OPEN MIND, be an EMPTY CUP, LEARN again, EARN more! WE DESERVE IT! YOU DESERVE IT! YOUR FAMILY DESERVES IT! the only thing you have to do is ASK ME HOW... there is nothing to lose and everything to GAIN...
"Success often comes to those people who DARE to ACT..." A great day to all! :)
